Eat Healthy Snacks - Choose Hemp Seed

Trying to keep from snacking on high-calorie foods is one of the difficult matters that dieters face. Dieters know it is important to locate better alternatives that are healthy. Seeds are one thing that sure fits these needs, they are great to snack on while being healthy too, even when it comes to the hemp seed.

They are full of a variety of important minerals and vitamins as well as being low in fat content, these are also approved as a low glycemic index food. These seeds release energy into the body slowly according to the GI diet, which makes the body not be hungry. You can choose from pumpkin, sunflower, linseed, sesame, or hemp seed to snack on.

The seeds provide plenty of fibre without overloading your body with sugar, but the hemp seed is extra high in fibre, and the linseed can cause you a laxative reaction. It will be easier to consume the small sesame seeds if they are with other bigger seeds, but they are rich in calcium. You can get iron, zinc, and vitamin C from the pumpkin or sunflower seeds.

When you feel like snacking on a biscuit, it is nice to know you have a jar of a mixture of seeds handy to eat instead, keep the jar in the kitchen or in your favorite snacking area. Health food stores offer you mixed seeds you can buy, or you can buy the separate kinds and mix them up for yourself. You can even add some raisins, nuts, and dried fruit like papaya and pineapple.

Don't buy the fired or roasted because they are now as healthy for you as the raw seeds are, their nutritional value is not the same.

Seeds are good for more than just snacking though, you can also cook with them. Great for sprinkling on your low-cal yogurt, cereal, salads, or putting them in your recipes for stir-fry. Even though they are small all the seeds including the hemp seed pack a healthy punch!
